Great Wrap is made with compostable biopolymers. Currently, we’re using plant-based oils, agroforestry waste and pbat within our range of products. Our material inputs are certified home compostable and food contact approved.

In the future, we plan to make our wrap with PHA in our own biorefinery. PHA is not only home compostable but marine degradable too! Meaning it will completely break down in the ocean as well as a compost environment.

Great Wrap is made in our Melbourne-based factory, where our team works hard to manufacture it, coordinate packaging and distribute our orders. We also have our main office at this location so our team can work collaboratively.

It sure is! Our wrap only begins to break down in a compost environment. It needs the action of microbes and moisture for the composting process to start.

Rain and water won’t affect the performance of Great Wrap. Our wrap will only begin to break down once microbes in your soil or compost start their process.

Compostable Pallet Wrap

Our Compostable Machine Pallet Wrap rolls are sold individually, and our Compostable Hand Pallet Wrap is sold in packs of four. There is no minimum order required for either.

We proudly supply compostable wrap to businesses big and small, so you can order as much or as little as you need.

If you’d like to place a larger order of Machine or Hand Pallet Wrap to reduce shipping costs and the overall price, please fill in the business enquiry form here.

We sure do. To discuss bulk order discounts, please fill in the business enquiry form here, and we will work to find an option that is right for your business.

While we have yet to launch Compostable Pallet Wrap globally, we can send it internationally with a minimum order of one shipping container. All international orders will be shipped ex-works — meaning you are responsible for organising freight and delivery.

Great Wrap looks and works just like regular pallet wrap — but it needs to be treated a little differently once used. It is essential that everyone receiving Great Wrap knows how to dispose of it properly.

Our pallet wrap customers are given several options for letting their customers know that they are receiving Great Wrap:

  • Branded stickers to put on their pallets with a QR code for disposal information
  • Full welcome pack with email and social media templates

If you'd like to view our welcome pack, fill in the business enquiry form on our business product pages.

Great Wrap is compostable, so to ensure it ends up in an environment where it will break down, you’ll need to educate yourself, your team and your customers.

  1. Request our welcome pack from our sales team - this pack is filled with everything you need: our product catalogue, a drafted email for Great Wrap receivers, social media captions, imagery and brand assets
  2. Let the people receiving Great Wrap know they will need to set aside a separate bin for their used Great Wrap
  3. When their bin is full, they can contact their local compost collection service or get in touch with our team

Our team can assist with waste provider introductions, please fill in our business enquiry form for more details.

You can order individual boxes or small Compostable Pallet Wrap orders via our website. For larger quantities contact our sales team through the business enquiry form here.

The recommended pre-stretch of our wrap is up to 250%, this is above the standard average meaning your Great Wrap goes a little further!

  1. Once your pallet is stacked, grab your Compostable Hand Pallet Wrap and tie it to a corner on the pallet base
  2. Begin hand wrapping the bottom of your pallet by walking around the pallet — do this step a few times to ensure your load is stable
  3. Gradually work your way up and around your pallet load. Make sure there is some resistance, but try not to over-stretch the wrap
  4. Tear your wrap once you've finished, and tuck or tie the top corner

For hand-wrapping, we recommend using hand savers or a handheld dispenser. They help stop the edge of the wrap catching and make the work much easier on your hands.

  1. Ensure your Compostable Machine Pallet Wrap is correctly loaded onto the core holder of your machine and configure the settings to your requirements
  2. Once your pallet is stacked, take it to the machine and place it on the turntable
  3. Pull some wrap away from the roll and attach it to your load or pallet
  4. Start the machine wrapping process following the manufacturer's instructions and relevant safety protocols
  5. If your machine does not automatically cut the wrap off the roll on completion, cut the end of the wrap and tuck or tie it into the wrapped pallet

The steps for Machine Pallet Wrap use may vary depending on the machine you have — we recommend a pre-stretch up to a 250% for optimal stretch and stick.

It is important to know there is a correct way to load the wrap onto an automatic wrapping machine because there is a cling and slip layer. The outside layer (slip) must always be wrapped on the outside.

Around 373 million plastic water bottles end up as waste each year in Australia, and of all the plastic bottles that are placed into recycling, only 36% are recycled. The rest end up in landfills and spill into waterways, which causes several environmental and health issues.

The Great Mate helps solve this problem by looking at other ways to use plastic and give it a more meaningful life rather than ending up in a landfill.

Great Mate is made from a type of plastic that can't be put in your home collection bin.

We know that giving plastic a new life feels great, so if you have an old Great Mate or broken pieces that have been replaced and would like to recycle them, you can send them back to us, and we will repurpose them.
